With the individual exteriors out of the way we've made significantly more progress this week with more work to showcase.

Week 12 Progress 12657910

Regarding the houses, I've now completed the primary architecture. The buildings that can be internally explored now have stairs, supports and stories. All buildings, however, have any exterior staircases and connecting bridges.

Week 12 Progress 12628310

Given that the environment is a kind of neo-medieval city, I've limited myself to using stone and wood based assets.

My next focus was on the fountain. I tried to treat the fountain as the centrepiece of the city like you'd find in a public park therefore symmetry was important. The fountain is designed to act as a space on its own as well as being a thoroughfare for the people.

Week 12 Progress 12605310

For the surrounding garden beds, I used stone blocks and then covered them in grass assets and flower assets from the Infinity Blade Grasslands collection.

During this week, Thomas worked on his island and ocean where he tried to create small land formations that would occupy the sea. Although he had difficulty producing the island, he worked hard to create it.

Week 12 Progress 12657911

Using the textures provided by Peter, he was able to create the appropriate textures for an island.

Meanwhile Victor started off with simple form to create the temple that would go in the back of the city. We went with a different architectural style for the temple as we wanted to treat it as an ancient building for a past era much like how cities like Rome and Athens have modern buildings but retain their ancient churches/temples.

To achieve this Victor used a more ancient style such as classical stone pillars and open buildings (i.e. no/few walls)

Jacob's task was to work on the pillar that the city would be held on as well as the accompanying one. He started off by creating the basic skeleton of the pillar in order to work out the shape.

After creating the skeleton he would then be able to build the pillar around that shape.

Alex, who was working on the background mountains, went absolutely nuts on the rocks producing an amazing result.

He started by taking the measurements of the city and building a bsp block to match it. He then built his mountains around that.

Week 12 Progress 12672010

We decided to add in a grove that would sit in the mountains and connect to the back of the temple. Victor and Alex collaborated to work out where that grove would meet the temple and Alex built a wall accordingly to line up the temple with the grove entrance.
